The National Weather Service Forecasts-

TONIGHT...CLOUDY. RAIN LIKELY LATE. LOWS AROUND 33. NEAR DOWNTOWN JUNEAU AND DOUGLAS...NORTHEAST WIND 15 TO 25 MPH. ELSEWHERE...EAST WIND 10 TO 15 MPH.

We have received about 4cm or precipitation since midnight at the Mt Roberts Tram Summit. Temps climbed slightly above freezing at that elevation as this came in but we still managed to receive about 1\" of dense wet snow. Eaglecrest has also received about 1\" of new snow at mid mountain with around .1\" of precipitation so a little less precip and a little less dense. Temperatures are slightly above freezing now as mid mountain there as well.

The forecast calls for very small volumes of precipitation over the next few days. Temps to cool off tonight.

Be aware what still remains is small areas of windslab from the last several days. This is now seeing small volumes of new snow to add to the equation for wind transport.

Winds are light now but expected to pick up a bit. Be aware of small pockets of instability at upper elevations. Mostly in lee windloaded areas. Yet recognize we have had several wind directions over the last several days. During some periods of wind there was more snow available for transport than others. Be aware if you recreate in the backcountry avalanche danger may be more moderate in isolated location.

Avalanche danger in the urban environment remains LOW.
