The National Weather Service Forecasts-

Today- Snow. Snow accumulation 3 to 5 inches. Highs around 36f. northeast wind 10 mph early in the morning becoming light and variable.

Tonight- Snow. Snow accumulation 1 to 2 inches. Lows 27 to 33. South wind 10 mph in the evening becoming light and variable.

Tuesday- Snow with rain likely. Snow accumulation to 2 inches. highs around 36. Southeast wind 10 to 15 mph.

With big snows on a wind hardened bed surface Avalanche Danger is HIGH today.

Expect to see loose snow avalanches off of the steeps as this snow cleans off of trees and rocks.

Yesterday we had a fair amount of North wind as well building windslabs in our Urban Zones.

We received 10-12\" of snow around the region. Most of that at fairly low densities. Right about 10% on average. With additional snow in the forecast conditions will continue to build.

Natural avalanche activity and human triggered avalanches both possible. Light winds but be aware this snow will be moving in both loose and soft slabs avalanches in places.

Temps this AM are 21f at Eaglecrest and 21f at Mt Roberts. Winds are linght at less than 10mph. They did blow upwards of 230 yesterday at time along the channel. Douglas winds are a little less.

Temperatures today are forecast to climb by 5f. With continued snow this will build a bit of weakness into the slab.

Use extra caution today in the backcountry.

Slides still should not be to large in the urban environment.

Should be a fun day out there but things will be sluffing fast and far... as well as slabs may be present in isolated windloaded locations. Please use extreme caution.

Today is another good day to avoid the Flume and Perseverance Trail. Please also avoid walking in the gated areas above the Berhands Neighborhood.

Tip:

Today is a good day to remember all the tricks in the tool bag.

Remember Avalanche Transceiver, Probe and Shovel! And they do not work without the partner that is trained in how to use them.

Please ski with a partner. Today is a great day to conduct a quick beacon search at the park to practice up.

Remember to ski one at a time in Avalanche Terrain from safe spot to safe spot...

Be safe out there and have an amazing day!
