Look for small wet point release avalanches through the later part of the day on sunny slopes. South and West Facing slopes tend to be the most prone later in the day.

The National Weather Service Forecasts-

Today- Mostly clear. Patchy freezing fog early in the morning. Highs around 34. North wind 10 mph early in the morning becoming light and variable. Gusts to 25 mph downtown juneau and douglas early in the morning.

Tonight- Clear. Lows 19 to 25. Light winds.

Washingtons Birthday- Sunny. Highs around 34. Light winds

The weather has remained clear and cold over the last several days. This all on the back of rains to above summit.

The snowpack is quite stable currently. Avalanche danger is low.

Keep an eye out for small point release avalanches on the sunny slopes later in the afternoon.

Always be looking for glide cracks and areas of glide to know when instability increases to this hazard in regions. If you see glide cracks simply avoid those areas.

Currently temps are 21f at Eaglecrest and 28f at the Tram Summit. Winds are mild at 10-13mph out of the north.

Tip:

Remember regardless of conditions... Beacon, Probe, and Shovel. You never know when you will need them and a beacon can even be used to find a friend who hits a tree and becomes unconscious.
