The filing period for the City and Borough of Juneau Assembly and Board of Education (School Board) opened Friday, July 15, 2022 at 8:00 a.m. and closed on Monday, July 25, 2022 at 4:30 p.m. A complete list of the certified candidates can be accessed on our website at https://juneau.org/clerk/clerk-certified-municipal-candidates-2022. Candidates have until 4:30p.m. on Friday, July 29, 2022 to withdraw their name or make changes to the way their name appears on the ballot.

Voters will elect one Areawide Assemblymember, and one District 1 Assemblymember and one District 2 Assemblymember and two Board of Education (School Board) members at the October 4, 2022 Regular Municipal Election.

Anyone wishing to file as a Write-In Candidate for the October 4, 2022 Regular Municipal Election will need to file a Letter of Intent and Declaration of Candidacy Form along with an Alaska Public Offices Commission Public Official Financial Disclosure Statement no later than Tuesday, September 27, 2022. Write-in candidacy procedures are in accordance with CBJ Code 29.07.050 and CBJ Code 29.07.370. 

Please note: Voting in municipal elections is conducted on an areawide basis and voters may choose to vote for all races on the ballot. Assemblymembers and School Board members are elected areawide and serve areawide. Voting districts are solely for the purpose of the residency of the candidate! This is different from state elections.
