Changes to Dimond Park Aquatic Center weekend operations

Due to critical staffing shortages, Dimond Park Aquatic Center is implementing several changes to ensure swimmer safety while keeping the pool open to the community as much as possible. The following changes will go into effect Friday, September 6:

  • Limited capacity: Pool capacity will be capped at 50 swimmers on Friday nights, Saturdays, and Sundays.
  • Reduced hours: The pool will close at 3 p.m. on Saturdays and at 4 p.m. on Sundays. Weekday hours will remain unchanged.
  • Reduced equipment access: Diving boards and slides will be closed on Friday nights, Saturdays, and Sundays.

These changes are temporary and will be called off as soon as staffing levels allow—currently estimated to be in November.

Please check the DPAC schedule before heading over to the pool to make sure you have the most current information about pool hours and availability. We appreciate your patience and look forward to returning to full operations in the near future.

Juneau Pools is actively hiring for both full-time and part-time positions. See openings and apply at bit.ly/careersCBJparks. If you or someone you know is interested in becoming a lifeguard, Juneau Pools is offering a Lifeguarding Course from October 16-19—stay tuned for more details.
