ELECTION DAY, OCTOBER 4, 2022 – PRELIMINARY UNOFFICIAL RESULTS POSTED

Today, October 4, 2022, is Election Day for the CBJ Regular Municipal Election which is being conducted as a By-Mail/hybrid election. Voters were mailed ballots on September 13 and Ballot Drop Boxes and Vote Centers have been accepting ballots since September 19.

All the ballots that have been received through Saturday, October 1 have undergone their initial review and those that were eligible for counting have been scanned and included in today’s preliminary unofficial results. Those results are posted on the CBJ Elections webpage at https://juneau.org/clerk/elections.

The CBJ Elections team will continue to process the ballots cast at the two Vote Centers, dropped off in one of the two Ballot Drop Boxes and mailed via the U.S.P.S. and a secondary set of unofficial preliminary results will be posted online on Friday, October 7, 2022 and again on Friday, October 14.

Part of that review process will include sending out cure letters to voters to ensure any missing information or signature remedies are addressed so those ballots can be approved for counting. Voters are encouraged to respond as soon as they receive a cure letter to make sure their ballot can be counted.

The Canvass Review Board will meet on Monday, October 17 and again on Wednesday, October 19 to review and certify the election. The official/final results will be posted online once the Canvass Review Board and Election Official certify the election on October 19.

CBJ Election Day 10/4/22 Vote Centers Open 7am-8pm

CBJ Ballot Processing Center

Today, October 4, 2022, is Election Day for the CBJ Regular Municipal Election which is being conducted as a By Mail/hybrid election. Voters were mailed ballots on September 13 and voters who have not yet cast their ballots have a number of options for voting but need to do it TODAY! They can drop off their voted ballots in one of our two drop boxes, located at Douglas Library and the Auke Bay Statter Harbor boat launch parking lot, at one of the two Vote Centers by 8pm tonight, or mail them in (please make sure to get it postmarked if you are mailing it today.)

The polling precincts used for State elections will NOT be open today but voters who need assistance or a replacement ballot can go to one of the two Vote Centers, located at the Mendenhall Valley Library and City Hall. Vote Centers will be open 7am-8pm today. All ballots cast at the Vote Centers are processed as by mail ballots along with all other ballots at the new CBJ Ballot Processing Center.

Drop boxes will stop accepting ballots when they are locked at 8pm. If voters choose to place their ballots in the mail today, we strongly urge voters to take it in person to a USPS location and ask that a legible postmark be placed on the ballot return envelope to ensure we can count it.

Preliminary, unofficial results from ballots that have been processed through Friday, September 30, will be posted online after 8:00p.m. tonight.

Full details are online at https://juneau.org/clerk/elections Anyone with questions about this election can call the Ballot Processing Center at 907-586-5278, option 4.
