Informational Meeting on AWARE Retaining Wall Project Funded by the Community Development Block Grant Program

Informational Meeting on AWARE Retaining Wall Project Funded by the Community Development Block Grant Program, scheduled for June 16, 2023, at 4 P.M.

The public is invited to participate in an informational meeting to hear an update on the progress of the development of a retaining wall to protect the AWARE emergency shelter from life threatening impacts landslides and other related events.

In December 2020, AWARE experienced a landslide that caused damage to the driveway and some minor flooding in the shelter. The slope directly in front of the shelter was significantly eroded.

For those interested in learning more, a meeting will take place at Kaasei Transitional Housing Conference Room, 3410 Glacier Hwy at 4pm on Friday, June 16.
