The City & Borough of Juneau is proud to announce that CBJ Municipal Clerk Beth McEwen is the Alaska Association of Municipal Clerks’ 2023 Clerk of the Year. The award was announced at the annual AAMC banquet on December 5, 2023.

The award cited McEwen’s “dedication to the municipality, her willingness to dive deep to find answers and determination to keep the wheels of government turning.”

The citation went on to acknowledge McEwen’s extensive knowledge of government and local issues, including the ability to stay deeply informed on a wide variety of topics before the Assembly and the voters and a granular knowledge of meeting procedure.
