The Special Assembly Committee of the Whole Joint Meeting with Planning Commission meeting scheduled for January 6, at 5:00 p.m. at Assembly Chambers has been canceled due the closure of CBJ facilities and the ongoing winter storm. This in person “Juneau Futures” worksession will be rescheduled to a future date.

Join CBJ Assembly Meetings in Person or From the Comfort of Home

The City & Borough of Juneau (CBJ) invites you to participate in upcoming meetings that include public testimony either in person or remotely via Zoom. You can stay safe, stay warm, and still have your voice heard even if you are unable to visit City Hall.  

Follow the directions below to participate in regular CBJ Assembly meetings with public testimony:  

  • Testimony time may be limited by the Mayor, so plan accordingly. 
  • To speak remotely, call the Municipal Clerk at (907) 586-5278 (option 1) by 4 p.m. the day of the meeting and tell us the topics you’d like to address. 
  • For in-person participation, sign in at the back of the room—no advance sign-up is needed.

Bartlett Regional Hospital Board & Planning Commission Accepting Applications

The City & Borough of Juneau is currently taking applications for the Bartlett Regional Hospital (BRH) Board and the Planning Commission. Persons interested in applying should fill out the online application and mark their interest in the appropriate board.

Upon receipt of an application, the Clerk’s Office will email applicants advanced interview questions specific to the BRH Board or Planning Commission. The Clerk’s Office will schedule applicants who returned the advanced interview questions for a 10-minute Zoom interview with the full Assembly sitting at the Assembly Human Resources Committee.  Interview dates/times are tentatively scheduled for the week of December 15th depending on the number of applicants for each board.

Empowered Board Applications Accepted Through Wednesday, December 3rd for:

Bartlett Regional Hospital Board: (2) partial-term seats running Jan. 1 – Dec. 31, 2026 & (3) full-term seats (2 public/1 physician) running Jan. 1, 2026 – Dec. 31, 2028.
Planning Commission: (3) Seats for terms running Jan. 1, 2026 – Dec. 31, 2028.

If you applied for the BRH Board or Planning Commission during 2024, Clerk staff will reach out to see if you are still interested in serving.

Other CBJ Boards without a Current Application Deadline:

Board of Equalization: (4) seats for various terms
Douglas Advisory Board [must live on Douglas Island]: (2) seats immediately – Sept. 30, 2028
Historic Resources Advisory Committee: (1) partial-term seat immediately – June 30, 2026
Juneau Commission on Aging: (4) full-term seats Jan. 1, 2026 – Dec. 31, 2027
Systemic Racism Review Committee: (4) seats for various terms
