Today Is the Last Day to File for the October 6 Municipal Election

Today, Monday, July 27, is the final day to file as a candidate for the October 6, 2026, CBJ Regular Municipal Election. Candidate filing closes promptly at 4:30 p.m. Late filings cannot be accepted.

The following offices are up for election:

  • One (1) Assembly Areawide Seat (3-year term)
  • One (1) Assembly District 1 Seat (3-year term)
  • One (1) Assembly District 2 Seat (3-year term)
  • Two (2) Board of Education Seats (3-year term)

To become a certified candidate, the City Clerk’s Office must receive printed copies of the following completed documents:

  • Declaration of Candidacy
  • Alaska Public Offices Commission Public Official Financial Disclosure
  • Nominating Petition with signatures from at least 25 registered Juneau voters
  • Acceptance of Nomination

All required forms are included in the candidate filing packets and must be completed and delivered to the City Clerk’s Office, 155 Heritage Way, Juneau, AK 99801.
