Celebrate National Trails Day on Saturday with Trail Mix

Join the City and Borough of Juneau Parks & Recreation Department on National Trails Day this Saturday, June 1, for a celebration of Juneau’s trails. Parks & Recreation is partnering with Trail Mix, Inc. and the Tongass Chapter of Trout Unlimited #581 to improve the Montana Creek Trail. To make the trail safe, they are rerouting the trail from the steep, eroded bank and hardening the trail with gravel. Volunteers are needed to move, spread, and compact the gravel.

Meet at the Dimond Park Field House at 9 a.m. Work will take place until 1 p.m., with refreshments provided afterward. Come prepared with suitable outdoor clothing, sturdy boots, gloves, water, and snacks. Trail Mix will provide all tools. All ages are welcome, but please leave dogs at home.
