Planning Commission meets December 10. Here’s how to weigh in.
The Planning Commission Meeting will occur December 10, 7 p.m. in City Hall Assembly Chambers to review a Conditional Use Permit for a marijuana cultivation facility, and a Conditional Use Permit for a coffee stand with drive-through service. Both of these items are up for public hearing.

A Conditional Use Permit for a Marijuana Cultivation Facility (USE2019 0023)
The applicant requests a renewal for a Conditional Use Permit granted to them for the development of a 6,000 square foot marijuana cultivation facility in a vacant warehouse space located at 8420 Airport Boulevard in an Industrial zoned district. The proposed facility would be for growing, processing, and packaging cannabis for distribution and sale. The applicant intends to use this building solely for cultivation.
A Conditional Use Permit for a coffee stand with drive-through service (USE2019 0024)
The applicant requests a Conditional Use Permit for the development of a coffee stand with drive through service. The applicant requests to move their existing coffee stand located at 5401 Glacier Highway to a new location approximately 700 feet to the north at 5545 Glacier Highway. The relocated drive though coffee stand would share the 3.5 acre site with the existing Alaska Communications Systems (ACS) building.
