Open Turf Returns to Dimond Park Field House October 1

CBJ Parks & Recreation is welcoming the return of Open Turf (bit.ly/open-turf) at the Dimond Park Field House (DPFH). This weekly drop-in program gives Juneau residents of all ages the chance to share access to the turf, similar to open swim at the Juneau pools or open skate at the Treadwell Arena.

Starting Wednesday, October 1, Open Turf will be offered Mondays and Wednesdays from 3–5 p.m. The program offers a great opportunity to play catch, scrimmage, or just stretch your legs in a warm and dry space as fall weather sets in. Please note that the track will be closed during Open Turf.

The cost is $5 for adults and $3 for youth/seniors. Punch passes and monthly passes are available for online purchase through the registration catalog at bit.ly/registerCBJparks (click the “Field House” tab). Single-visit entries can be purchased at the DPFH front desk. A variety of balls and sports equipment will be available for checkout on a first-come, first-served basis. Patrons are also welcome to bring their own equipment if it can be used safely within a shared space. Children and youth must be supervised by an adult.
