Just Keep Swimming with a Dive-In Movie this November 15

Ready to journey across the ocean from your local pool? Join CBJ Parks & Recreation for Finding Nemo (G) at the Dimond Park Aquatic Center on Saturday, November 15 at 4:30 p.m. This event is sponsored by SEARHC.

Regular pool admission applies; pool passes are accepted. The pool is limited to 100 swimmers, but additional guests are welcome in the lobby at no charge. Locker rooms open 15 minutes before showtime. For more information about admission and passes, visit juneaupools.org.

Registration for Juneau Pools Swim Lessons Opens November 7

Registration for the next session of swim lessons at the Dimond Park Aquatic Center (DPAC) and Augustus G. Brown Swimming Pool (AGB) open at noon on November 7. Visit the “Juneau Pools” tab at bit.ly/registerCBJparks to register. Registration will not be accepted over the phone, in person, or in advance.

Registration for all classes is $80 plus tax. Scholarships for youth are available at bit.ly/ZGYCscholarship and are due at noon on Wednesday, November 5.

DPAC Classes:

Classes for Youth and Preschool Session 3 will run every 30 minutes from 4:15 – 7:00 p.m. on Thursdays from November 13 – December 11, excluding November 27 for Thanksgiving.

Adult Swim Lessons will run every Thursday from November 13 – December 11 at 7:15 – 8:00 p.m., excluding Thursday, November 27 for Thanksgiving.

AGB Classes:

Classes for Youth and Preschool Session 3 will run every 30 minutes from 4:20 – 6:50 p.m. on Wednesdays from November 12 – December 10, excluding November 26 for Thanksgiving.

New Parent & Tot and Lil’ Swimmers Swim Lessons Starting November 1

Juneau Pools will offer a new session of swim lessons for Parent & Tot and Lil’ Swimmers at Dimond Park Aquatic Center (DPAC) and Augustus Brown Swimming Pool (AGB) beginning November 1.

Registration opens Friday, October 24 at noon and will be accepted online only. Visit bit.ly/registerCBJparks and click the “Juneau Pools” tab to register and view the full schedule. Registration will not be accepted over the phone, in person, or in advance.

Parent & Tot

Parent & Tot swim lessons will be offered on Saturdays at both DPAC and AGB from November 1 through December 13. They are designed for children ages 6 months to 3 years and are divided into two groups: 6-18 months, and 18 months-3 years. Classes are 30 minutes long with start times at 9:15, 10:00, 10:15, and 11:00 a.m. The cost for the program is $60 plus tax.

Lil’ Swimmers

At DPAC, Lil’ Swimmers (ages 3–5 years) will run from November 1 through December 13 on Saturdays. Classes are 30 minutes long with start times at 10:45 and 11:30 a.m., also for $60 plus tax.

Juneau Pools Closed for Alaska Day and Swim/Dive Meet

Both Juneau pools will have closures and adjusted schedules October 17 & 18.

The Dimond Park Aquatic Center (DPAC) will be closed Friday, October 17 and Saturday, October 18 for a High School Swim/Dive Meet and will reopen on Sunday, October 19 with regular operating hours.

The Augustus G. Brown Swimming Pool (AGB) will be closed on Friday, October 17 for Alaska Day and will reopen on Saturday, October 18 with regular operating hours.

Fall Into Fun at DPAC’s Floating Pumpkin Patch on October 25

Ready to go pumpkin picking… at the pool? Join Juneau Parks & Recreation for an extra helping of Halloween fun on Saturday, October 25 as Dimond Park Aquatic Center transforms into a floating pumpkin patch. Kids (and their guardians) can swim among the pumpkins before picking out a favorite to decorate in the lobby and take home.

The pumpkin patch will be open for two sessions, from 12:30 – 2:30 p.m. and 2:15 – 4:15 p.m. The pool will be open for the first hour of each session, with the final hour dedicated to pumpkin decorating. Be sure to arrive at the beginning of the session so you don’t miss out on pool time!

This event costs $20 per participant (including free accompanying admission for a parent/guardian. Registration opens online (bit.ly/registerCBJparks) on Thursday, October 16 at noon. Each session is open to 60 participants.
