Reconstruction Complete, Homestead Park Reopens to Public

The City and Borough of Juneau is excited to announce the reopening of Homestead Park, a popular viewpoint of downtown Juneau located in Douglas. The park was rebuilt through a project funded entirely by Marine Passenger Fees to address safety and traffic flow concerns. The park now features an elevated walkway with a non-slip surface, a loop design, and a larger viewing deck for a safer, more accessible space for park users to enjoy year-round.

The park returned to regular hours, 7 a.m. to midnight daily, on Friday, April 3. Learn more about Homestead Park at juneau.org/parks-recreation/homestead-park.

For more information about the park or the reconstruction project, contact CBJ’s Parks & Recreation’s department by emailing [email protected] or calling 907-586-5226.
