CBJ Engineering & Public Works Department Streets Division is recruiting for a permanent full-time Equipment Operator II. This position – located at CBJ’s Street Maintenance Shop at 7100 Glacier Highway – comes with full benefits and starting pay is $29.75 – $31.77 hourly depending on qualifications.

As a part of the Street Maintenance Crew, you will perform various tasks associated with the year-round maintenance of CBJ streets. These include: operating heavy and light-duty equipment; asphalt patching; traffic control; and maintenance of vegetation, signs, barricades, fences, bridges, culverts, drainage structures, and road surfaces; perform traffic control duties; and snow and ice control as well as gravel road maintenance.

Primary work includes manual labor, solving equipment or mechanical problems, and operating a wide variety of equipment. This recruitment is for the two entry trainee levels.
 
This position comes with full benefits and the pay starts at $20.12 hourly depending on the level appointed to. Based on performance, an applicant will have the opportunity for regular pay increases, advancement, and training until the incumbent achieves the fully proficient certified operator level ($31.77 hourly).
