Missed the Candidate Filing Deadline? You Can Still Run as a Write-in Candidate.

If you missed the regular candidate filing period, you still have an opportunity to run in the October 6, 2026, CBJ Regular Municipal Election as a write-in candidate. Your name will not be printed on the ballot, but can be written in by voters.

Beginning Friday, July 31, prospective write-in candidates may file Declaration of Candidacy and Alaska Public Offices Commission financial disclosure forms with the Municipal Clerk’s Office. Unlike candidates who filed during the regular filing period, write-in candidates are not required to submit a nominating petition with voter signatures. Write-in candidates must file by 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, September 29, 2026.
