Eaglecrest Marketing & Events Manager

Full Time 40 hours per week $19.50 - $24.35 Hourly (DOQ)

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are looking for someone that is passionate about skiing, snowboarding, outdoor adventure sports, familiar with industry trends, and can identify with Eaglecrest guests and attract new users.. Candidates should have a successful background in websites, copywriting, photography, digital advertising, and social media. The ideal candidate will have experience with website design and back end configuration utilizing the WordPress platform.

WHAT IS IT LIKE TO WORK ON OUR TEAM
Working on the Eaglecrest Team can be very rewarding. You will be in a position to create a legacy being a part of the Eaglecrest senior team as we grow and expand summer and winter operations. You will be able to spend time on the slopes so you can accurately relay conditions to your enthusiastic customer base. At times the work can be demanding and require long hours and overtime during holiday periods.

WORKING HOURS AND LOCATION
This position typically works Wednesday through Sunday during the winter season to match the ski area operating schedule 7:00am to 4:00pm. Working school holidays and weekends is mandatory. Work hours during the summer season is flexible. Your work location will be at Eaglecrest Ski Area in the Marketing Office located in the Fish Creek Lodge.

Job Responsibilities

DESCRIPTION OF WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

This position will be responsible for creating the annual marketing budget in collaboration with the General Manager. Throughout the year you will be the voice of the mountain keeping guests informed on everything that is happening at the mountain, which includes: regular website updates, social media posts, newsletters, and special events. You will also assist with employee newsletters to help our 100+ staff members be update on all happenings. You will work with the Marketing & Media Coordinator to produce photo and video projects to meet the goals of the department. You will be required to develop relationships with the local media and visitor industry groups. This is a senior management position that will be included in weekly Manager Meetings, long-range planning and special assignments for the General Manager. In the off-season continuing growth of our partner agreements with other mountain across the world to promote travel to Juneau and to add value to our season pass holders. You will be responsible for growing our brand in Juneau, in Alaska, and around the world. You will be instrumental and helping with the upcoming expansion in summer operations.

Minimum Qualifications

DO I HAVE THE QUALIFICATIONS FOR THIS JOB – OUR MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Experience:         Four years of marketing, advertising, and/or event planning experience that included creating and editing multi-media products (photo/video editing; creating flyers and advertising material).

Substitution:       Post-secondary classes in a related field (ex. marketing, communications, business; journalism) from an accredited college may substitute for two years of experience on the basis of 2.5 semester hours (3.75 quarter hours) of credit for one month of experience.
