On November 15th, 2023 at around 9:30 a.m., members of the Southeast Alaska Cities Against Drugs (SEACAD) task force, contacted 40-year-old Juneau resident Carson Knight in the departure lounge at the Juneau International Airport. SEACAD officers contacted Knight on suspicion of transporting controlled substances from Washington State to Juneau.
During the investigation, SEACAD officers located the following items in Knightâs luggage:
Approximately 4,500 pills suspected of containing Fentanyl
Approximately 66 grams of powdered Fentanyl
The seized narcotics have an estimated street value of approximately $62,540.
Knight was arrested for two counts of Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance in the second degree which is a Class A Felony. Knight was transported to and lodged at the Lemon Creek Correctional Center.
SEACAD, Southeast Alaska Cities Against Drugs, is a regional task force comprised of municipal police departments from Juneau, Ketchikan, Sitka, Haines, Skagway, Petersburg, Hoonah, Wrangell, Craig and Yakutat, the Alaska State Troopers, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Drug Enforcement Administration, United States Postal Inspection Service, and Coast Guard Investigative Service. Together, they work to investigate drug importation and distribution in the Southeast Alaska region.
