INFORMATION RELEASE

07/16/2023, at about 4:11 a.m., JPD received a report of a disturbance at a residence in the 2100 block of Lawson Creek Road. A complainant reported hearing what sounded like fighting and people screaming. As JPD responded to the residence, the caller reported seeing a male run from the area of the residence.

Arriving officers found the front door of the residence open, and the door frame broken. Inside the residence, officers located a 46-year-old female Juneau resident, who had injuries consistent with an assault.  The female said she had been assaulted by 44-year-old Juneau resident Brennen Edward Brewer, who is known to her from a previous domestic relationship.  Brewer was not located at the residence and had left prior to the arrival of the police. The female was transported to the hospital for medical treatment due to injuries sustained during the assault.

At about 4:27 a.m., officers located Brewer driving a vehicle on the Douglas Highway. Officers stopped the vehicle and took Brewer into custody without further incident.

The initial investigation alleges that Brewer forced his way into the residence and assaulted the 46-year-old female.  At the time of the assault, the victim had a restraining order against Brewer, and Brewer was out on conditions of release from jail for an unrelated criminal offense.

Brewer was placed under arrest and taken to jail on the following charges, which are related to domestic violence;

• Burglary in the 1st degree, a class B felony
• Assault in the 2nd degree, a class B felony
• Assault in the 2nd degree, a class B felony
• Assault in the 3rd degree, a class C felony
• Assault in the 3rd degree, a class C felony
• Assault in the 3rd degree, a class C felony
• Stalking in the 1st degree, a class C felony
• Assault in the 4th degree, a class A misdemeanor
• Criminal Mischief in the 4th degree, a class A misdemeanor
• Violating a protective order, a class A misdemeanor
• Violation of Conditions of Release, a class A Misdemeanor
