On 05/07/2023, at about 8:23 p.m., the Juneau Police Department received a call for an ambulance to respond to a residential housing facility in the 1900 block of Allen Court. The caller was requesting an ambulance for a 60-year-old female resident who had significant injuries to her face and head. The female was transported to the hospital but later medevacked to the Alaska Native Medical Center in Anchorage because her medical condition became more serious.
During the initial investigation by JPD, it appeared that the female had sustained injuries consistent with a physical assault. JPD identified a suspect in the assault, 62-year-old Juneau resident Patrick McKinley. On 05/08/2023, McKinley was contacted by police at the residential housing facility on Allen Court.
Following the investigation, McKinley was arrested and taken to the Lemon Creek Correctional Center on the charge of Assault in the 1st degree, a class A felony offense.
McKinley and the 60-year-old female are known to each other and both reside at the residential housing facility.
The 60-year-old female is currently in stable condition.
Alcohol appears to be a contributing factor in this incident.
