An arrest has been made in connection with the fatality motor vehicle collision that occurred on April 26, 2023.
On October 14th, 2024, 57 year old Juneau resident Patrick Dealexandro was arrested on an outstanding warrant charging Manslaughter, Driving Under the Influence, Assault in the 1st degree, Assault in the 2nd degree and two counts of Assault in the 3rd degree. He was transported to and lodged at the Lemon Creek Correctional Center on $30,000 bail.

The preliminary investigation reveals the white Ford truck was driving outbound on Egan Drive in the merge lane to turn right onto Mendenhall Loop Road. The truck did not turn, continued straight, driving over the median island and crossed onto Mendenhall Loop Road at the intersection. The blue Toyota received a green light while in the Egan inbound turn lane and was completing a left turn through the intersection onto Mendenhall Loop Road. The truck struck the Toyota, then struck the intersection’s northern traffic signal light pole, smashing the front end of the truck. The truck ultimately landed on the driver’s side of the truck.
The truck had three occupants. The deceased female has been identified as a 27 year old Juneau resident. Her next of kin was notified this afternoon. A 55 year old male Juneau resident was medevaced out of town in critical condition. A 33 year old male Juneau resident was treated at BRH and released early this morning.
Both vehicles sustained extensive damage, were totaled and impounded. The roadway was opened at around 10:15 p.m. last night.

At about 5:11pm on April 26, 2023, multiple 9-1-1 calls were received reporting a collision near the intersection of Egan Drive and Mendenhall Loop Road. JPD officers and Capital City Fire/Rescue (CCFR) were dispatched to the scene. The first officer arrived at 5:13pm.
A white 2003 Ford truck and a blue 2005 Toyota Corolla were involved in the collision. The Toyota was operated by an 18 year old female with a 15 year old male passenger. The 15 year old passenger was transported by ambulance to BRH in critical condition. The Ford was found lodged against a traffic pole with the driver and 2 passengers entrapped. CCFR extricated one passenger and the driver, both were transported to BRH in critical condition. One passenger of the Ford truck died on scene.
At the time of this release, the JPD Major Accident Response Team and patrol officers are still on scene. Traffic in the area is still closed and being re-routed to Glacier Highway both inbound and outbound. The investigation continues.
