Summary:

On 09/21/2022, at about 3:55 p.m., the Juneau Police Department received a report of a deceased female found on the Brotherhood Bridge trail. The female was located approximately 200 yards from the trailhead parking lot near Glacier Highway. JPD responded to the scene and confirmed the woman was deceased.  The cause of the death is considered suspicious and is being investigated as a homicide.

JPD has identified and located a person of interest in connection to this investigation. JPD is continuing to ask the community to stay away from the area of Brotherhood Bridge trail until further notice.

The deceased has been identified as a 55-year-old female Juneau resident. Next of kin has been notified. JPD will release the name of the deceased woman on September 22nd.

​The deceased female is identified as 55-year-old Faith Marie Rogers. Her body is being sent to the Medical Examiner's Office in Anchorage for an autopsy.

JPD remains on scene at the Brotherhood Bridge trail and we are still asking for people to stay away from the area until further notice.

The person who has been identified by JPD as a person of interest in this incident was questioned and released.  No arrests have been made at this time and the investigation is on-going.

JPD’s preliminary investigation reveals that the victim, Faith Rogers, was on a walk with three dogs on the Kaxdigoowu Héen Dei (Brotherhood Bridge Trail) when she was killed last Wednesday afternoon.

JPD officers and investigators continue to follow up on leads and new information as it is received. Officers are working around the clock on this evolving criminal investigation. Due to the volume of information being processed, we have not yet been able to respond to all “tipsters”. We appreciate the community coming forward with tips and information and we are acting on them as quickly as we can.

JPD continues to encourage community members to care for their personal safety. Take precautions such as being aware of surroundings (not distracted by gadgets), travelling on well-known, well lit routes, traveling in pairs or groups and immediately leaving uncomfortable or potentially unsafe situations. Call JPD to report suspicious behaviors or encounters.

*** Update 11/25/2022 10:55 a.m.***

On 11/24/2022, at about 5:30 p.m., 34-year-old Anthony Michael Migliacco, was contacted by Juneau Police Officers in the 2000 block of Lemon Creek Road. An arrest warrant was issued for Migliacco, for murder in the 1st degree. Migliacco was arrested without further incident and taken to the Lemon Creek Correctional Center, where he was held on $500,000 bail.

The arrest of Migliacco, follows the two-month long investigation in the 09/21/2022 murder of 55-year-old Faith Marie Rogers, on the Kaxdigoowu Héen Dei (Brotherhood Bridge Trail).
