On 05/27/2022, the Juneau Police Department received a report, alleging that 62-year-old Juneau resident, Dermott Albert Howard, had sexually abused a minor, within the past two years. It was reported that the minor was approximately 6-7 years old when the crime occurred.
Following the investigation, on 06/01/2022, JPD Detectives contacted Howard at his residence on Montgomery Street and placed him under arrest for Sexual Abuse of a Minor in the 1st Degree. Howard was taken to the Lemon Creek Correctional Center.
On 06/09/2022, a Juneau Grand Jury indicted Howard on three counts of Sexual Abuse of a Minor in the 1st degree, all are unclassified felony offenses. Howard is currently still being held at the Lemon Creek Correction Center.
