INFORMATION RELEASE

Subject: Drug Arrest at Juneau International Airport

Summary:

On 04/26/2022, at about 11:30 p.m., members of the Southeast Alaska Cities Against Drugs (SEACAD) task force,  contacted two airline passengers at the Juneau International Airport, who were believed to be carrying narcotics as they travelled from Seattle to Juneau. The two passengers, 37-year-old Dustin West Daley and 29-year-old Stephanie Amanda Seminara, both residents from Washington state, were contacted as they exited the plane.

Following the investigation, officers located the following narcotics inside Daley and Seminara's luggage;

  • 57.78 grams of heroin
  • 16.71 grams of oxycodone pills
  • 1.43 grams of methamphetamine
  • 60 suboxone strips
  • 5 xanax pills
  • 8 grams of powdered fentanyl

The seized narcotics have an estimated street value of approximately $22,150.

Daley and Seminara were both placed under arrest and taken to the Lemon Creek Correctional Center.

Daley was held on the following charges;

  • Two counts of Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance in the 2nd degree, a class A felony
  • Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance in the 4th degree, a class C felony

Seminara was held on the following charges;

  • Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance in the 4th degree, a class C felony
  • Two counts of Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance in the 5th degree, a class A misdemeanor

While at the Lemon Creek Correctional Center, it was believed that Seminara was carrying additional narcotics inside of her body. She was taken to the Bartlett Regional Hospital, where multiple objects containing a total of 102.7 grams of heroin were removed from inside of her. The additional 102.7 grams of heroin have an estimated value of approximately $23,000.

SEACAD, Southeast Alaska Cities against Drugs, is a regional taskforce comprised of municipal police departments from Juneau, Ketchikan, Sitka, Haines, Skagway, Petersburg, Hoonah, Wrangel, Craig and Yakutat, the Alaska State Troopers, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Drug Enforcement Administration, United States Postal Inspection Service, and Coast Guard Investigative Service. Together, they work to investigate drug importation and distribution in the Southeast Alaska region.
