INFORMATION RELEASE

Subject: Stolen Property Recovered From Valley Residence
Date: 2019-12-06
From: Lieutenant Krag Campbell
Case or Incident: #191205-004
Summary:

On 12/05/19, at around 1:30 PM, Juneau Police Detectives served a search warrant at a residence in the 4100 block of Aspen Ave, related to an ongoing criminal investigation involving stolen property. In the garage of the residence, detectives located the following items identified as being stolen:

  • Alpacka raft, valued at $1,300, reported stolen on 11/28/19. The raft was stolen out of an unlocked vehicle in the 9200 block of Glacier Highway.
  • Trek bicycle, valued at $1,000, reported stolen on 08/22/19. The bicycle was stolen from in front of a residence in the 3200 block of Tongass Boulevard.
  • Husqvarna snow blower valued at $1,500 and a Husqvarna loading ramp, valued at $200. These items had not been reported stolen until after they were located in the garage. Detectives contacted a local equipment dealer where similar items are sold and were able to confirm the items belonged to the dealership and they had recently been stolen.

49-year-old Juneau resident Dales Charles Reeves was located at the residence and placed under arrest for theft in the 2nd degree, a class C felony. Reeves was also charged with violating his conditions of release, since he was out on bail from court case # 1JU-19-740CR, and one of his conditions of release was not to commit any new crimes. Court case # 1JU-19-740CR is a criminal case against Reeves, where over $5,000 in stolen property had been recovered from his same garage.

Reeves was taken to the Lemon Creek Correctional Center and held without bail.
