Subject: Off-Duty Police Officer Arrested for DUI and Assault

On 07/28/2019, at approximately 1825 hours, the Juneau Police Department received a report of a motor vehicle collision near the 4000 block of the North Douglas Highway. The investigation revealed that a truck traveling outbound on the North Douglas Highway rear-ended another truck.

The driver of the truck that caused the collision was identified as off-duty Juneau Police Officer Brent Bartlett. The driver of the second truck was identified as a 48 year old female Juneau resident.  The female was transported to the Bartlett Regional Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

Bartlett was arrested for Driving Under the Influence of alcohol. He was transported to the Juneau Police Department and then to the Lemon Creek Correctional Center where he was lodged.  Bartlett was additionally charged with Assault in the 3rd Degree, a Class C Felony, for causing injuries to another person while driving DUI.  Bartlett was held on No-Bail.
