On 06/26/19, at about 10:13 AM, a 17 year old female reported being robbed on the East side of the Nugget Mall.
The female said she had just gotten off the bus behind the Nugget Mall. She was walking around the Valley Lumber side of the mall, when an unknown male called out for her to come talk with him.
The female assumed the male was going to ask her for money, so she walked over to him to tell him she didn't have any. The female uses a cane to assist with walking, and when she approached the male, he kicked the cane away from her, causing her to fall to the ground. The male then demanded the female's purse and stated he would stab the female if she didn't give it to him. The female did not see a knife, but was scared by the man's actions, and handed over her purse.
The male was last seen running off towards the side of the Nugget Mall, in the general direction of McDonalds. The female was unharmed during this incident.
The female described the male as being white, approximately 20-30 years old, about 6 feet tall, with slightly scruffy hair and acne scars on his cheeks. The male was wearing black skinny jeans and a dark gray hoodie.
JPD is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect in this robbery. If anyone was near the East side of the Nugget Mall yesterday morning, they may have seen the suspect. If anyone has information about this crime, please call JPD.
