Between 8am and 4pm today, staff from the Police and Fire Departments will be conducting a joint training exercise at the Public Safety Building on Whittier Street.
Officers will be simulating deployment and entry into buildings for situations such as serving high risk search warrants, arrest warrants or when a suspect or active shooter is armed in a location that is fortified or has hostages. The team will be breaking doors and windows and the training will include the controlled use of small explosive devices (flashbangs) that create noise and light.
This training is designed to boost collaboration between CBJ law enforcement and emergency medical personnel. The training activities will be conducted inside and outside of the building.
