Summary:

William Moy Arrested

On 12/14/18, after multiple tips, and sightings, the Juneau Police Department located Moy in the area of Twin Lakes. Moy attempted to run, and even swim, but was no match for the combined might of the Juneau Police Department, and ever vigilant community members.

Moy was arrested on his warrants and taken to jail.

***********************

On 12/12/2018, 25 year old William Moy Jr., who had been in custody at the jail for multiple misdemeanor criminal offenses and a charge of felony escape, was released by the courts to his defense attorney to attend an appointment. Moy was supposed to return to the jail today by 2:00 PM, but failed to return as ordered.

Upon receiving notification from the jail that Moy had not returned, the Juneau Police Department was able to verify that Moy unlawfully left the custody of his defense attorney, and that the defense attorney did not immediately notify the police or the jail.

Moy now has multiple warrants for his arrest.

You may recall Moy's name from news articles back in August of this year, when he kicked out the window of an AST prisoner transport vehicle on his way back to jail from court. Moy temporarily escaped, but was arrested shortly afterwards.

The Juneau Police Department is asking for the communities assistance in locating Moy, and help us get him back to jail. Moy is described as a 25 year old Alaskan Native male, about 5'7" tall and weighing approximately 175 pounds. Moy has black hair and brown eyes. Moy has multiple criminal convictions for theft. So please make sure to keep your car doors, and houses locked. A photo of Moy has been posted on the JPD Facebook page.

If anyone see's Moy, or has information of his whereabouts, please contact JPD at # 586-0600.

JPD would also like to remind community members that anyone helping to hide Moy, or provide him assistance while he is wanted, could face felony criminal charges for hindering prosecution.

All factual allegations contained in this release are based upon preliminary investigation and are subject to change or clarification as the investigation continues. Any charges reported in this release are merely accusations and all persons named in this release are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
