Subject: Drug Arrest and Recovery of Stolen

Summary:

On 09/06/2018 at about 7:00 PM, officers from the Juneau Police Department's drug enforcement unit located a suspicious package that was being mailed to a resident in the 4100 block of Aspen Ave.

The packaged was later sniffed by Canine Officer Buddy, who alerted to the presence of controlled substances. Officers obtained a search warrant for the package and upon opening it, discovered there was 28 grams of methamphetamine inside.

On 09/07/2018, at about 2:00 PM, Drug enforcement officers delivered the package to the intended recipient, fifty year old Juneau resident Patrick Hill, at the residence in the 4100 block of Aspen Ave.

Hill was arrested for misconduct involving a controlled substance in the 2nd degree, a class B felony, and taken to jail.

While at the residence, assisting detectives saw several items inside that were believed to be stolen property. Detectives obtained a search warrant for the residence and located several items of stolen property. The property was confirmed to be stolen from various burglaries, thefts and car rifling's around Juneau. The investigation into the recovery of the stolen property is still on going.
