INFORMATION RELEASE

On 08/20/2018, William Eric Moy JR was arrested by the Juneau Police Department, after being identified as a person of interest in several ongoing burglary investigations.

On 08/06/18, the Scuba Tank reported their business was burglarized and approximately $2,000 in equipment was stolen.

On 08/10/18, Southeast Extinguisher reported a burglary to their business and their back door was damaged when the suspect made forcible entry. The replacement cost of the door was estimated at about $3,000. Some cash and other property items valued at about $2,000 were reported stolen.

On 08/13/18, Southeast Extinguisher reported another burglary at their business. An exterior window was broken, valued at about $1,000. It was reported that a .22 caliber revolver was stolen as well as about $525 in cash.

On 08/20/18, Moy was located in a motor home in the 8400 block of Nugget Drive. Upon contacting Moy, officers attempted detain him for a search warrant and for violating conditions of release from an unrelated criminal matter. Moy resisted and attempted to escape out the window of the motor home, but was apprehended.

Moy was placed under arrest and transported to the jail on three counts of burglary 2nd degree, three counts of theft 2nd degree, two counts of criminal mischief 3rd degree, one count of theft 3rd degree, and one count of resisting or interfering with arrest. Moy was lodged at the jail without bail.

JPD Detectives later served a search warrant on the residence where Moy had been located. Inside the residence they located stolen property related to several different burglaries.
