On 04/27/2018, at about 5:37PM, the Juneau Police Department received a report of a shoplifter at Superbear who was fighting with store employees.
Officers arrived at Superbear and located the shoplifter who was outside the store. Officers detained the shoplifter, who was identified as fifty year old Juneau resident, Ronald Wheat.
The Superbear employees involved in the incident reported they saw Wheat shoplifting inside the store. When Wheat left the store with stolen merchandise, they contacted him outside and attempted to recover the property. When the employees contacted Wheat, he became aggressive and started attacking them. One of the employees sustained minor injuries.
Wheat was placed under arrest for robbery 2nd degree, a class B felony, theft 3rd degree, a class A misdemeanor, assault 4th degree, a class A misdemeanor and disorderly conduct, a class B misdemeanor. Wheat was taken to the Lemon Creek Correctional Center and held without bail.
