The Juneau Police Department held a banquet on Saturday to recognize staff for their service in 2017. Many employees were nominated by peers for significant contributions and personal actions performed to support the values and mission of JPD. Four finalists were selected by the Chiefs and awards were issued as follows:
Civilian of the Year - Stacy Eldemar
Dispatcher of the Year - Meghan Kennedy-Brown
Leader of the Year - Brian Dallas
Officer of the Year - Blain Hatch
In addition to honoring individuals for performance in their assignments and workgroups, the banquet serves as a time for JPD employees to get together, have fun, and celebrate employees who have achieved service milestones.
The success of this year?s banquet was due, in large part, to the Juneau Police Auxiliary, a non-profit group who planned the event, gathered donations, and set up the venue. The Juneau Police Auxiliary would like to thank the following businesses for their support: Alaskan Brewing Company, Alaska Seaplanes, Bullwinkle?s Pizza, Hangar on the Wharf, Heritage Coffee, Juneau Pizza, Nugget Alaskan Outfitter, Papa Murphy?s, Sportsman?s Warehouse, The Grind Coffee Co and the Westmark Baranof Hotel.
