On January 8th, 2018, at 11:49PM, the Juneau Police Department received a report of a found body in the 3500 block of North Douglas Highway.
Officers from the Juneau Police Department responded to the area and located the body of a deceased male. The cause of death appears to be from a gun shot and a handgun was recovered from close proximity to the body.
Next of kin was notified and the deceased male has been identified as 36 year old Juneau resident, Anthony N. Malacaro.
The preliminary investigation shows that no foul play is suspected in the cause of death. Malacaro's body will transported to the Medical Examiner's Office in Anchorage for an autopsy.
This case is still under investigation by the Juneau Police Department.
