On 07/03/2017, at approximately 3:32 PM, the Juneau Police Department received a report from the 9900 block of Stephen Richards Memorial Drive that a male was involved in an altercation with a female. The male was later identified as 27 year old Juneau resident Casey J. Yakovich.
JPD officers arrived and determined that Yakovich had followed the female to a neighbor?s residence, where two men attempted to stop the altercation with the female. It is alleged that Yakovich attempted to draw a firearm from a holster and a struggle ensued over the gun. The gun was not fired and no one was hurt by the firearm.
Yakovich was arrested for two counts of Assault in the 3rd Degree. Yakovich was transported to and lodged at the Lemon Creek Correctional Center.
The investigation is continuing.
