On June 30, 2017 at about 1:28pm JPD received a report that a male was erratically driving a green Ford Explorer inbound on Egan Drive. The vehicle reportedly jumped a curb, crossed the center line, and there was concern that the driver may have been intoxicated.
At 1:33pm, an officer conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle on W. Eighth Street. It was determined that the driver, 39 year old John Anthony Martin was not intoxicated but did have a multiple outstanding arrest warrants from Albuquerque New Mexico. One warrant charged Martin with a probation violation due to an original charge of Aggravated Assault -Family - Weapon.
Bernalillo County Sheriff?s Office was contacted and they confirmed that Martin had 4 outstanding felony warrants for probation violations and they would extradite Martin.
Martin was charged with being a Fugitive from Justice, transported to and lodged at the Lemon Creek Correctional Center without bail.
