On June 3rd, 2017, at approximately 4:00AM, the Juneau Police Department received a report of a motor vehicle crash in the area of 1201 Egan Drive.
Police and CCFR responded to the area and located a white 2014 Ford Fusion disabled in the roadway. A single female occupant was located in the vehicle. She was identified as the driver of the vehicle, 26 year old Fuapauna Sua.
The investigation showed that the Ford Fusion had been driving outbound on Egan Drive, when it drove off the roadway, striking a light pole and speed limit sign. The Ford Fusion sustained about $10,000 in damages due to the crash.
Sua had no visible injuries from the crash, but she was transported to the Bartlett Regional Hospital for further medical evaluation.
Sua was later arrested for operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated, a Class A Misdemeanor. Sua later provided a breath sample to determine her level of intoxication. Sua's breath alcohol concentration was .163%; which is twice the legal limit for operating a vehicle.
