On 04/20/2017, at approximately 11:44 AM, the Juneau Police Department received a report of a distraught 39 year old female at the Riverbend Apartments with a firearm. Riverbend Elementary School was notified and the school initiated their Stay-Put procedure.
JPD officers arrived at the Riverbend Apartments, established a secure perimeter, and made telephone contact with the female. At approximately 12:05 PM, the female exited the apartment and was taken into protective custody without further incident.
Riverbend Elementary was notified and the area was subsequently reopened to the public.
