On March 25, 2017, at about 10AM the Juneau Police Department received multiple 911 calls reporting a multiple vehicle accident on Egan Drive at Fred Meyer. No injuries were reported. JPD Officers were dispatched and responded to the scene.
Subsequent investigation revealed that a 4-door sedan was traveling outbound on Egan Drive and crossed over into the inbound lanes. The sedan continued driving against traffic, causing motorists in the inbound lanes to take evasive action. Three vehicles collided while trying to avoid the head on collision with the sedan. The three vehicles were driven by a 38 year old male, a 36 year old male, and a 17 year old male. No injuries were reported by any of the drivers. Two of the vehicles sustained minor damages and were driven from the area. One vehicle had to be privately towed.
Witnesses described the 4-door sedan as being purple or maroon in color and being operated by a male. In continued traveling outbound in the inbound lanes and was last seen traveling towards the McNugget Intersection. Officers were unable to locate the vehicle.
