The 26 year old male suspect in the stabbing has been identified as Brent M. Sanders.
On 01/31/2017, Sanders was arrested on a no bail felony parole violation warrant, original charge two counts Assault in the 3rd Degree. Sanders was transported to and lodged at the Lemon Creek Correctional Center.
On 02/01/2017, Sanders was charged with Attempted Murder in the 1st Degree and Assault in the 1st Degree.
The investigation continues.

On 01/31/2017, at approximately 1:35 AM, the Juneau Police Department received a report of a stabbing that took place in a residence located in the 9100 block of Cinema Drive. Officers arrived and located a 37 year old female victim with a knife sticking out of the side of her head and multiple stab wounds to her back.
The initial investigation revealed that a 26 year old male Juneau resident had attacked the 37 year old female with the knife. During the assault a second female got involved and was struck in the face by the male. The male suspect then fled from the area before JPD officers arrived at the apartment. Officers searched the area and did not locate the male suspect.
Capital City Fire Rescue paramedics arrived and both females were transported to the Bartlett Regional Hospital for treatment of their injuries. The 37 year old female victim was later medivaced to Anchorage.
At approximately 5:25 AM, residents on Cinema Drive reported that the male suspect was back at the apartment complex. At approximately 5:31 AM, officers contacted the male and took him into custody.
The male is currently in custody but has not been formally charged. JPD Detectives are working closely with the Juneau District Attorney?s Office and this press release will be updated once the male is formally charged.
Drugs and alcohol appear to be contributing factors.
The investigation is continuing.
