On 01/07/2017, at approximately 2:13 PM, a hiker reported discovering a deceased male near a mudslide chute above Gastineau Avenue. JPD officers met with the hiker and were taken to the area where the deceased male was discovered. The deceased male was discovered near the mudslide chute approximately 500 feet from the roadway.
The deceased male had been in the woods for an unknown amount of time and his body showed signs commonly associated with being unattended in the woods.
