On November 6, 2016, at about 8:05 in the morning, a woman appeared to be planning an armed robbery of the Douglas Breeze In but stopped before actually threatening anyone. She fled in a vehicle driven by an unknown person. No one was injured in the incident. The employee opening the store did see a handgun in the woman?s hand before she fled and surveillance video clearly shows her having a handgun. JPD is releasing pictures of the woman to see if the public can assist in identifying her and the driver of the van.
Juneau Police Department officers did locate the van used in the incident. It is a fishing charter vehicle with ?Chum Fun? printed on the side. JPD has not been able to contact an owner to see if the vehicle was stolen. The van was abandoned in the 2700 block of John Street in Douglas.
