Halloween celebrations for all ages have begun and trick or treating is right around the corner.
If you are driving to and from Halloween parties, don?t drink alcoholic beverages, ensure everyone is wearing a safety belt and avoid distractions. JPD will have extra officers working over the weekend for DUI enforcement.
Please be especially careful and alert while driving Monday evening as neighborhoods will have more pedestrians than usual. JPD will have extra officers working over the weekend for DUI enforcement.
Pedestrians are reminded to watch for motorists and cross roadways at designated crosswalks if available. Wearing bright clothing, walking in groups, carrying a light and having adult supervision are all great ways to stay safe. If trick or treating, do not enter a stranger?s house and children should be reminded not to accept rides from people without a parents? permission. Remind children not to eat treats unless they are unopened, store bought treats that have been inspected by an adult.
