On October 14th at about 12:01pm, the Juneau Police Department received multiple 9-1-1 calls reporting a motor vehicle collision on Glacier Highway near Western Auto. The callers stated that a pedestrian appeared to have been struck by a vehicle.
Capital City Fire/Rescue and JPD officers were dispatched to the incident. The pedestrian sustained serious injuries and was transported by ambulance to BRH. He was later identified as a juvenile and his family was notified of the situation. The vehicle was a 2003 silver Infinity operated by a 65 year old male.
The roadway in the immediate area was closed and is estimated to reopen within 2 hours. The investigation continues.
