On September 25th, 2016 at about 2:14pm, the Juneau Police Department received a report that a building located in the 3500 block of North Douglas Highway had been burglarized.
The property owner was at a business located in the building and noticed a door in the building was unlocked. There was also dirt on interior steps leading up to a private residence. As the man walked through the building, he noticed items were missing and things were in disarray. A JPD patrol officer and a JPD Detective responded to the scene.
It appears that access was forcibly gained to the building through a second story window. Property is missing from a business office and a private residence located within the building. Stolen property includes two rifles, a large safe, cash, gold and jewelry valued at about $170,000.
It is likely that the burglary occurred between 6:30pm on Saturday and 7:30am on Sunday. Investigation continues.
