On September 19th, 2016 at about 9:52pm, a 29 year old female called JPD to report a subject broke into her house and refused to leave. The suspect reportedly popped a window out of a door to gain access to the residence.
When officers responded to the residence and knocked on the door and identified themselves, the suspect left through a side door. The suspect refused to stop at the direction of an officer who had been posted outside.
While running away from that officer, the suspect began spraying pepper spray toward the officer. The suspect continued to run and spray pepper spray along his route until two officers deployed their Tasers, striking the suspect in the torso.
The suspect was identified as 40 year old Juneau resident, John Paul Lucion Holland. Holland was detained and subsequently arrested for 3 counts of Assault on a Police Officer and 1 count of Violating Conditions of Release. He was transported to the Lemon Creek Correctional Center and held on $1,000 bail.
