On Saturday September 3, 2016, the Juneau Police Department will have the lobby open to accept unwanted medications. The drug take back will go from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.. This is a good opportunity to get unwanted drugs, especially narcotics, out of your home so that the drugs are not diverted to people who might abuse them. There is a strong correlation between prescription drug abuse and the abuse of street drugs.
JPD finds that prescription drugs are sometimes brought from home to school by students and shared. With school starting, it is a good time to examine what drugs are in your home.
JPD does not accept liquids or needles.
