On 08/13/2016 at 6:25 AM, a caller reported a burglary to a business in the downtown area. Arriving officers found window leading into an upstairs office in the Merchant?s Wharf building had been accessed by the suspect breaking a window out of the room. The victim reported finding at least $600 in property taken. Video footage of the break-in was recovered, and a suspect was developed. Officers later located the suspect in the downtown area, and he was detained. The man, 30 year-old Matthew G. Ritchey, was arrested and lodged at the Lemon Creek Correctional Center on one count of Burglary in the Second Degree, Criminal Mischief in the Third Degree, and Theft in the Third Degree. Ritchey was held without bail pending his arraignment.
