Case or Incident: #N/A
When you pack up your lawn chair and blanket to go to the fireworks show the night of July 3rd in Juneau, the Juneau Police Department would like you to bring one more item, your bicycle! On July 3rd, at 11:00 in the evening, JPD officers will lead a safety ride where traffic laws will be followed and the streets will remain open to vehicles. Bicyclists are asked to put lights on their bikes and wear high visibility clothing. There will be a prize for the most visible rider and bike!
The ride will be from Marine Park, through the downtown district, a short distance on Egan drive with a turn- around near the Juneau-Douglas Bridge. The group ride will end at Marine Park in plenty of time for people to return to their lawn chairs for the fireworks.
Please join JPD for this new fun and safe holiday tradition!
