On June 6th, 2016 at about 2:26am, a 41 year old Juneau man reported to a JPD patrol officer that he had been assaulted and robbed by multiple subjects on Franklin Street.
The victim was bleeding from the face and had torn clothing. An ambulance was requested and the victim was transported to BRH.
Multiple officers responded, canvassed the downtown area, and began an investigation into the incident. As the investigation continued, it was determined that a subject yelled inappropriate comments toward the victim. After the victim verbally responded, several subjects physically assaulted him by hitting him on the head and placing him into a ?choke hold.? During the altercation, subjects took items from the man?s pockets including a small amount of cash.
On June 14th, 2016 at about 4am, 18 year old Angoon resident Bobby Paul was arrested for Robbery in the 2nd Degree and Assault in the 2nd Degree.
Four other men and 1 female have also been identified as suspects and charges are being filed against them for Robbery in the 2nd Degree and Assault in the 2nd Degree.
Alcohol was a factor in the incident. The investigation continues.
