On 05-30-2016 at 6:30 PM, Juneau Police received multiple reports of an intoxicated driver on Egan Drive near Fred Meyer. Callers said the vehicle was a late 1990s model Dodge pickup, and it had sustained damage after striking a light pole on Egan Drive. JPD officers located the heavily damaged truck on Glacier Highway near Alaway Avenue, where it was stopped. The vehicle was steaming due to disabling damage to the radiator. Damage to the truck was estimated at $3000, and damage to the light pole at more than $7000. The driver of the Dodge, 49 year-old Michael Timothy Whiting, was arrested for felony Driving Under the Influence, Refusing a Breath Test, and Leaving the Scene of an Accident. He was lodged at the Lemon Creek Correctional Center without bail.
